Malt forward. Black with red highlights and a low brown head. Light roast coffee malt aroma, almost cola. Some smokiness. Carbonated but a light creaminess. Lightly sweet then roasty malt. Dry finish.
4.75/5

There has been some controversy about this beer because it is an oyster stout. Now, I’ve had a few oyster stouts before – they are a fairly traditional style down here in the south, but usually they are designed to go with seafood, not with actual oysters in them. This one was brewed with oyster shells and people swear that it has made it briny. I don’t get that at all. This is roasty, a bit creamy, a bit sweet. There may be a slight saltiness on the end but it’s just part of the balance. I love it and I think it will go well in my stout cookie recipe! It also went well with jam sandwich cream biscuits!
