Tasting Session! Women’s Pint Club got together and tried a fantastic range of beers from @olddairybrewery & @Catt leshedbrewco and we promised to give them some honest reviews, so here we go!
Gold Top – Golden Pale Ale 4.3%
Gold with a white head. Fruity hop aroma, lightly buttery. Very drinkable, light and fruity.
Rated between 3 and 4 out of 5 by the group. My rating 3.75/5
Following the Herd – Kolsch Lager by Cattleshed 4.5%
Yellow with a thick head. An alkaline aroma, grainy. Slightly soapy and metallic taste. The group were not a fan of this one – we wanted more flavour but did say it was crisp.
2/5 from all of us.
Uber Brew – Hoppy Pale Ale 3.8%
Yellow, slightly hazy with a bubbly white head. Hoppy aroma with pine and resin. Bitter up front, then a resin taste, quite clean. This split the room, some really liked it and others said they couldn’t drink much of it.
Between 2 and 3 out of 5 for the group, 3.5/5 from me.
What the Heck – Orange Pale Ale by Cattleshed 3.8%
Pale gold, clear, with a white creamy head. Orange juice aroma, lightly tropical and spicy. Lightly bitter on the tongue, orange with a clean finish. We thought this one was very refreshing.
3 to 3.5 out of 5 for the group 3.75/5 for me.
Blue Top – India Pale Ale 4.8%
Clear gold with a white bubbly head. A fragrant, sweet aroma, almost creamy – light caramel? Lightly carbonated and bitter, earthy and malty. We all found this creamy and drinkable.
An average of 3.5 to 4 out of 5 by the group. I gave 3.75 out of 5 again, edging to a 4.
